FRAUD WILL ALWAYS CATCH UP WITH YOU IN THE END:

Marlene Lewarne, who was the focus of an IRS investigation, is back in Middelburg Magistrates Court in November for her fraud trial. There are multiple victims and the fraud runs into the millions of rands.

In the interim, judgement has been granted by the Mpumalanga High Court in a civil case in favour of one of her many victims for almost R2 million.

Civil processes can run parallel to criminal processes with the ultimate aim being to hold fraudsters accountable and clawing back the money.
